The Family Medicine Education Consortium, Inc. is a not-for-profit
corporation which supports the educational and scholarly needs
of its members. The Family Medicine Education Consortium, Inc.
was founded by a Board of Family Medicine Chairs and Residency
Directors from the northeast region of the US.
Priorities for the Family Medicine Education Consortium, Inc:

Support programs and services that promote medical student
interest in
Family Medicine |

Develop programs and services that stimulate the recruitment
and development of Family Medicine faculty |

Develop programs and services that promote the leadership
skills of current and future leaders in Family Medicine |

Develop programs and services that create coalitions and
linkages among those who wish to increase the number of Family
Physicians in the U.S. |

Facilitate the development of relationships that will lead
to scholarly efforts that address issues of interest to Family
Physicians |
The prime function of the Consortium is to encourage and support
collaboration among our Family Medicine Residency Programs and
Departments of Family Medicine. We also seek to create linkages
with organizations interested in the growth of family medicine
such as foundations, state agencies, and corporations with a
special interest in strengthening primary care. |
