Getting Near The End:

How Family Physicians Approach End-of-Life and Pallative Care Services

We are working to improve the end-of-life and palliative care services offered to patients across the nation. We believe that improving the training of Family Medicine and primary care residents is an important next step. We developed a comprehensive toolkit that will be distributed to all Family Medicine Residency program in the US. The toolkit strengthens the training in the programs which has a faculty member with a special interest in Palliative and End of Life Care. Faculty members participate in train-the-trainer workshop. Following the training, coaching services are offered to the trainees to support their use of the curriculum in their respective programs.
